How we verify clinics
The checks every clinic passes before it appears on VietDentalTrip, and what those checks don't tell you.
Plan my tripKey points
- Three checks are required before a clinic is listed. The licence, the lead dentist's certificate and the address.
- Three more checks are shown on each profile so you can see what a clinic has and hasn't shown us.
- A clinic that changes its name, address or licence details goes back into review.
- Verification confirms paperwork and premises. It doesn't guarantee the result of your treatment.
Anyone can build a website that says "international standard". We ask clinics to show us documents and premises before they can appear here, and we publish the result of every check on the clinic's profile.
Required checks
A clinic is listed only after all three of these pass.
Operating licence. Dental clinics in Vietnam need a licence to operate from the provincial Department of Health (Sở Y tế). We record the licence number and check it against official records.
Lead dentist's practising certificate. The dentist in charge of the clinic must hold a practising certificate. We check the name and number.
Address. We confirm that the clinic exists at the address it lists, by visit or by a live video walk-through.
Checks shown on the profile
These checks don't block a listing, but every profile shows whether the clinic has passed them.
Sterilisation. The clinic showed us how instruments are cleaned and sterilised, including autoclave records.
Written price list. The clinic publishes prices per treatment and gives itemised written quotes before work starts.
Written warranty. The clinic gives warranty terms in writing for crowns, veneers and implants, including what happens after a patient flies home.
When a clinic goes back into review
If a verified clinic changes its name, city, address, licence number or lead dentist, its badge comes off and the required checks are reset until we review it again. Price and description changes don't trigger a review.
What verification doesn't cover
We check paperwork and premises. We don't watch treatments, and we can't guarantee the outcome of any procedure. Always ask for a written treatment plan, and read our guide on choosing a clinic.
Reviews
Patients can review any listed clinic. A moderator reads every review before it's published. We remove reviews that are abusive, off-topic, or appear to be written by the clinic or a competitor. We don't remove reviews because they're negative.
Frequently asked questions
Can a clinic pay to be verified?
No. Verification is free, and clinics can't pay to change a check result or remove a review.
How often do you re-check clinics?
Whenever a clinic edits its name, city, address, licence number or lead dentist, its badge is removed until we review it again.
