Northern Vietnam centres on Hanoi, the capital, and the port city of Hai Phong to the east. It's the closest part of the country to Ha Long Bay and the northern mountains, so many patients add a short trip between appointments.

When to go

The north has a cooler, damper winter and a hot, humid summer. Treatment itself isn't affected by the season, but a mild winter week can be a more comfortable time to recover.

Getting around the region

Most international flights land at Noi Bai (HAN) in Hanoi. Hai Phong has its own airport, Cat Bi (HPH), and is linked to Hanoi by expressway. Book your treatment city first and stay close to the clinic.
